Pastors Richard and Gloria Crenshaw

Humble Beginnings

In 1990, Richard Crenshaw had a vision to start a church entitled "The Lord's Congregation". He felt like he had something to offer back to his community in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Holy Spirit moved through Richard and his wife, Gloria, and they agreed to pursue this dream. Richard stated, "There were so many people who had been hurt in churches. They needed someone who cared about their needs and loved them where they were." With that ideal in mind, the doors of TLC opened for the very first time.

Growth

As The Lord's Congregation continued to grow its church family and meet community needs, it soon became apparent that they were running out of space. In 2001, TLC moved to a new building to accomodate this need. Very quickly, however, even this move did not provide them with ample space to continue to grow their ministry. Beginning in 2004, Pastor Richard, his family, and the church family began the expansion project to add on a bigger sanctuary that could fit the church's growing needs.

Extended Family

The Lord's Congregation would be remiss if they did not acknowledge that love and support they've received down the years. While TLC is a family-run operation, it takes a village to nurture and upkeep a church, along with supporting its continued growth and prosperity. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all of our church family!

Today

With a strong foundation built by God, the church family, and an abundance of love, The Lord's Congregation continues to flourish. TLC continues to hold fast to their Christian values while also adapting service types and times to the changing climate of our world. We can guarantee that there is something for everyone!
